Tomorrow, Saturday December 3, 2016 is the day! Santa Clause will be making a grand visit through our town to help kick off the holiday season in Belleville’s lighted Christmas parade. So grab your family, friends, chairs, blankets, glow sticks, and hot chocolate. Line the streets to welcome Santa to our town. The parade kicks off at 6:00 PM from the Belleville High School parking lot, making its way east down Columbia and then northbound onto Main Street. Santa is most frequently escorted by the Belleville and/or Van Buren Township fire departments and carried aboard one of their fire trucks to conclude the parade.
The light parade is just one of the many fun events going on around the City of Belleville Saturday as part of Winterfest. At noon Animal Magic will have a show in the tent at Fourth Street Square. Between 1:00-6:00 there will be a bounce house on Third Street. A soup crawl will take place in the Fourth Street tent from 2:00 to 4:00. Carriage rides will be available at Roys Street between 3:00-5:30. At 3:00 there is wine tasting at Garden Fantasy on Main. And another big hit are the fireworks that get laughed over the lake around 8:00.
If you wish to spent a little time up close with the jolly man dressed in red, he will be at the Belleville Area District Library on Monday December 12, 6:30-8:00 to visit and lead a story time.
The Belleville Area Museum will be hosting Santa during their Children’s Ornament Workshops on Saturday December 10 and December 17 between noon and 4:00. Find more info on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/BellevilleAreaMuseum/
And if you are not able to catch him during his visits to town but want to be certain that he knows everything on your Christmas list, the Belleville Area Chamber of Commerce has a very special mail box outside their office on Main Street for your letters to Santa.
