Downtown – Lakefront

For many Belleville area residents, living within our downtown is where they are most happy to be.  Being able to walk from their doorstep to enjoy views of Belleville Lake at Horizon Park or the DNR boat ramp, playgrounds at Victory Park, The Belleville Area Museum, The Belleville Area District Library, as well as many special events, festivals and downtown businesses. Food, drinks and ice cream are also a short walk away from places like Egan’s Pub, The Bayou Grill, Johnny’s on the Lake, A&W, Frosty Boy, Benitos Pizza, The Lunch Box, Sam’s Place, and Captain Nemo’s Submarines.   Many of these homeowners also enjoy walking and bike riding within the neighborhoods, taking in the eclectic mix of architectural home styles along their journey through the town they call home.

For other residents of the tri-community area, it is all about lakeside living.  Enjoying the water views from their home, being steps away from the great recreational treasure our community holds in Belleville Lake, with boating, swimming, fishing at their easy access.

For a very select few Belleville residents, they are lucky enough to reap the benefits of both, downtown and lakefront living!

These homes are located on the shores of Belleville Lake, along Liberty Street, Huron River Drive, Potter Drive and High Street.  Lakefront sites along Liberty are a combination of single family homes, condos and apartments.   Some of the city’s lakefront homes were constructed as early as the late 1800’s and as recent as the mid 2000’s.  But the majority were built built between the 1920’s and the 1950’s.  They range in architectural style, from modern single story ranches to classic and stately two story colonials, and various things in between.  Basements are fairly common. Streets are paved with sidewalks and streetlights. Residents enjoy a convienient walk to enjoy views of Belleville Lake at Horizon Park, playgrounds at Victory Park, The Belleville Area Museum, The Belleville Area District Library, as well as many special events, festivals and downtown businesses.
